Robert Beatty MES MSW
is the founder and guiding teacher of the Portland Insight
Meditation Community. He brings 35 years of Buddhist Dharma practice to his
teaching and work with individuals. Robert is a member of the first wave
of lay Theravada Buddhist teachers who brought Buddhism from Asia to America.
Robert uses humor, poetry and drumming to teach meditation for everyday life,
including intimate relationships, parenting, work, and community.

With
the skilled and compassionate guidance of Robert Beatty who has taught
meditation to thousands of people during the last thirty years you will
learn the fundamentals of meditation and establish yourself in a daily
practice. You will learn how to bring Mindfulness into every activity
of your life. Each class will include guided meditation, instruction,
and time for questions. There is no test at the end of the class. Your

Thera. Both may be downloaded online. Reading these books is not
required, but they will help you make better use of the class.
