Vedena / Feeling Liking and Disliking

Vedena Is the second of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. Vedena Is translated as "feeling" but is not to be mistaken for the way that word is used in English to mean emotions. Vedena Is the conditioned pleasant, unpleasant or neutral response that occurs with each sense contact at the eye, ear, nose, tongue, feeling body and mind. When a person is not conscious of Vedena, he or she is at the mercy of prior conditioning, and identifies with these powerful experiences which result in action - Robert Beatty.

There is almost universal understanding of the Buddha's teaching on Karma. It is confused with guilt and blame from a shallow understanding of Christianity. The Buddha referred to Karma as "The Light of the World" because it is helps one understand how to act to create a more happy and loving life. The very word "Karma" is misunderstood - robert Beatty

Easter and the Buddha: Death and Rebirth

Jesus died on the cross and "rose from the dead". Siddhartha sat under the Bodhi Tree with the intention either to wake up or die. The Buddha got up from under the tree. These great myths lie at the heart of spiritual awakening. Every tradition has its story of transcending death. - Robert Beatty
