Practicing Dana in Support of PIMC

Dear friend of PIMC,

After a month of sometimes difficult, always compassionate conversations about the state of our country, and on the heels of a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration here at the center, we are more convinced than ever that our community is fostering positive change in our own hearts and minds and in the world as a whole.

Last week, we began a campaign to finish 2016 in a healthy financial position and kickstart our work in 2017. Many of you have already responded, but we are only part of the way to our goal of $10,000 by December 31. Will you consider adding your support to the community that supports your spiritual practice?

All of the activities and programs at PIMC are funded entirely by our community. Sometimes that funding comes from program fees, but much of it is supported by dana, the practice of generosity. With your help we can expand our education and social programs, maintain our building and grounds, and, most importantly, ensure that the teachings of the Buddha remain free and open to all.

Giving back is easy. Click here to make your gift, or leave your donation in an envelope marked "end of year gift" in the danabowl at PIMC.

As we begin the last month of 2016, we are also looking back in delight at how our sangha has grown in participation and vibrancy in the past year. It has been an amazing journey, and we look forward to what the new year will bring.

With deep gratitude,

The PIMC Board of Directors
Robert Beatty, Doug Pullin, Jim Dalton, Christine Howard, Doug Ross

PS - Have you ever considered joining our Stewardship Circle? This Circle is made up of community members who have set up an automatic gift to PIMC each month. Consistent monthly giving helps PIMC plan for the upcoming year, and is an easy way to make a regular gift without having to have cash on hand when you come to PIMC.

Portland Insight Meditation Community is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Your gift to PIMC is completely tax-deductible as allowed by law. More information about other ways to support PIMC is available here.
