With all the environmental challenges and social injustice we see in the world today, it becomes increasingly clear for many Buddhists that the path of engagement and action is becoming essential; that it’s important to add in their voices and perspectives, and work together with those striving for a better world. Engagement provides the opportunity to create the world we want to live in, both off the cushion as well as on it. To this end, PIMC is starting the "Engaging the Dharma" initiative.
Please join us on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 1:00pm for the inaugural meeting of this Initiative.
We'll go over the results of the recent survey on this subject, and create space to hear what people would like to see happen in our sangha around this issue. Robert Beatty and Tricia Andersson, who have been shepherding this initiative, will share their thoughts and ideas too. We’ll decide as a group how to move forward based on what is shared.
This meeting is open to anyone in the PIMC sangha (community) who wants to help shape this program. If you cannot make the meeting but would like to send your thoughts prior to it, Tricia will make sure that your views and ideas are incorporated. Please email her at:
