Vik Anantha, a longtime sangha participant and hiking enthusiast, will be leading an all-day group mindfulness hike on Saturday July 20, 2019.
Join us for a mindful day of hiking in the Bull of the Woods Wilderness. This scenic 12-mile hike starts at 4,500 ft and takes us to a fire lookout with a commanding view of Mt Jefferson & the Sisters at 5,500 ft. We then drop down to a couple of alpine ponds before climbing back up through an old burn. The entire hike has 2,300 feet of elevation gain through sub alpine forests with swaths of colorful wild flowers.
The solitude of the Wilderness provides a perfect backdrop for an entire day of mindfulness.

What is "Wilderness" and why are we choosing it as a backdrop for mindfulness?
Here are mindful teachings masquerading as the 1964 Wilderness Act:
"A wilderness, in contrast with those areas where man and his own works dominate the landscape, is hereby recognized as an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain"
Hope to spend a mindful hiking day with you all.
