This gathering will offer space for conversation, questions, and shared reflection as this process unfolds. After a full discussion with Alexa, she will depart the meeting, allowing time for further open community dialogue.

The PIMC Quilt Circle is an intentional, community-building group coming together to create a quilt similar to the one pictured (created by Connie) to be raffled in support of PIMC. Everyone is welcome—from experienced quilters to complete beginners, with plenty of non-sewing ways to participate. The Intersection of Dharma & Social Action

An Evening with Mark Nunberg

We live in a society where inequality, oppression, environmental concerns and so many other challenging issues and conflicts confront us each and every day. How do we as individual practitioners and a Portland-based Dharma community effectively respond in a manner rooted in the Buddha's teachings?

Join us for a special evening of practice and discussion with Mark Nunberg, co-guiding teacher at Common Ground Meditation Center in Minneapolis, where we will explore the topic together in a supportive environment. Mark will offer reflections on how the Common Ground Sangha has evolved with the understanding that the pain and confusion in our world is a difficult and necessary process in addressing the roots of suffering. And he will share guidance on how other Dharma centers can plan and actualize their own path forward on social issues in a manner that speaks to the needs of participants and the wider communities around them.

PIMC is making this offering available free of charge. Participants will have the opportunity to offer dana (generosity) to Mark if they feel called to do so.
